Project Description:
Sunrise of Manhattan Beach is an assisted living and memory care facility located on the corner of Sepulveda and 5th street. The 80,000 SF, 3-story project is situated on a sloped 1.2-acre site consisting of 95 residential units with underground parking to serve the needs of both the assisted living and memory care communities. The site is situated along Sepulveda Blvd, a retail and business corridor, and is adjacent to neighboring single-family homes.
The projects design reflects the scale and “beachy” feel found in the surrounding neighborhood through its Contemporary Craftsman detailing. Flower boxes, window shutters, divided windows, awnings, and variety of light-colored textured materials wrap the exterior of the building. The dining, activity and other entertainment spaces open out onto a private garden patio and courtyard with lounge seating and dining accommodations. The building offers up a few roof terraces that take advantage of the site’s location and views.
