Accessibility Statement
Effective Date: January 1, 2026 | Last Revised: May 29, 2026
HPI Architecture, Inc. is committed to ensuring that our website, www.hpiarchitecture.com, is accessible to the widest possible audience, including individuals with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor disabilities.
1. Our Commitment
Accessibility is an integral part of how we design our digital presence, just as it is in our architectural practice. We regularly review our Site using automated tools, manual testing, and user feedback to identify and address accessibility barriers.
2. Conformance Standard
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We assess our current status as partially conformant, meaning most but not all parts of the Site meet this standard. We are actively working to close remaining gaps.
3. Accessibility Features
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
Screen Reader Support
We use semantic HTML, ARIA roles, and descriptive alt text to help assistive technologies convey content accurately.
Color Contrast
Text and user interface elements maintain a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against their backgrounds in accordance with the AA standard.
Responsive Design
Content is readable and functional at up to 400% zoom and across all screen sizes and orientations.
Skip Navigation
A "Skip to content" link is available at the top of each page to allow users to bypass repetitive navigation.
Document Structure
Pages use a logical heading hierarchy and landmark regions to support navigation by assistive technologies.
4. Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas that do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA and are actively working to resolve them:
Project gallery sliders: Some image carousel controls may not be fully keyboard-accessible on all browsers. (In progress)
PDF documents: Older project sheets and brochures may not be fully tagged for screen reader navigation. (Planned)
Third-party embeds: Some embedded content such as maps and social feeds may not meet all accessibility standards. (In progress)
Video content: Captions for video assets are being added as content is updated. (Planned)
5. Assistive Technologies Tested
We test our Site with NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, TalkBack on Android, Dragon NaturallySpeaking for voice control, and keyboard-only navigation across major browsers.
6. Alternative Access
If you have difficulty accessing any content or functionality on our Site, please contact us. We are happy to provide information in an alternative format — including large print or plain text — upon request.
7. Feedback and Contact
