Surrounded by the vibrancy of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Sunrise offers assisted living and memory care in a traditional Mediterranean design setting.
The building is a 4-story L shaped envelope with surface and below ground parking which is beautifully landscaped, to include a meandering walkway around the facility. 75 suites, administrative offices, resident common areas for dining, living and socializing. Other spaces are provided for fitness, physical therapy, wellness activities, along with staff offices, commercial kitchen and commercial laundry. Common-use gardens, patios and sitting areas are also incorporated throughout the facility grounds. The Slope behind the facility was unstable and needed extensive shoring before construction could start. At one point an abandon mine was discovered which also needed remediation.
The site is located in the Walteria Land Use Sub-District of the City’s Hawthorne Boulevard Corridor Specific Plan as well as in the Hillside Overlay Zone.
